Hello everyone
Does anyone know how to make emacspeak read out carets when reading
LaTeX or know where I should look to find out?
Currently it pauses on it but doesn't say anything unless I specifically
move the pointer to it.

Does anyone know how to make this work?
I was also thinking of trying to make "=>" and "->" read as
"lambda"
when working with java and javascript code if possible but I'm not sure what I would
need to change to make this work.

You need to be more specific.
Under what conditions does '^' not speak when working with LaTeX --
specify what mode you're using, what packages you use for LaTeX etc.
To specify mode-specific pronunciations for lambda etc, use
pronunciation dictionaries as documented in the emacspeak manual
--- note that you should not need to do anything specific for '^' in
TeX and LaTeX documents.

It doesn't read in any mode however its specifically an issue when
reading LaTeX.
In your sentence:
--- note that you should not need to do anything specific for
'^' in
TeX and LaTeX documents.
it speaks as if the ^ was not there, all I hear is

I only hear it there when I move the pointer specifically to it.

This is likely a Mac specific bug.
In general, to meaningfully report a problem mimimally include the OS,
the TTS engine you etc, the Emacs version and any additional packages you may have
installed.
