ARGH - List move and test
by Greg Priest-Dorman
Hi Folks,
It was my intent to send this message to the new list, which THIS TIME I AM
MAKING SURE IS THE CASE.
SO, don't do what Greg does, make sure you send to emacspeak(a)emacspeak.org!
And here is the same message that just went out over the cs.vassar ist.
So far it looks good, one odd thing is that on gmail my "Welcome to the
list" letter was put in the "Promotions" heading of the primary inbox.
Not sure why. But if you are seeing this and you did not see the Welcome
email have a look, you should have it.
There are a handful of messages still in the queue to be tried again. of
some messages which did not get delivered, a few because the site accepting
their mail did not recognize our mail host as trusted. I have filed
tickets with the trust lists to allow mail from emacspeak.org. As of this
writing it looks like all but the sites using csi.cloudmark are now
allowing our mail to pass. Hopefully cloudmark will resolve this issue
shortly.
That only left a few members not delivered, these timed out or were
rejected with "try again later" messages.
This message is a test to see what issues remain.

Done testing for today
by Greg Priest-Dorman
Hi Folks,
Well, barring a problem, I'm done for today.
Where we stand:
We should now use the emacspeak.org list as the place to post.
The list is up, running, and archiving correctly.
The usenet gateway is not yet set up to post but you can read messages from
there. Since they have not moved over to the new location, anything posted
to gmane.emacs.emacspeak.general for now, gets posted to the cs.vassar.edu
list. Please try and avoid doing that. You can read posts on usenet, but
not post through usenet. That should be corrected within a few days. I
should not have expected otherwise as I have not received ticket
closed response from the admin at gmane, I just got hopeful when I saw it
was displaying posts. Soon.
If people want to send test messages to the new list, now is the time to do
it. But we should also just start using it.
emacspeak(a)cs.vassar.edu is still running but should not be used. I will be
working with the Matt the CS sys admin to get that list shut down next
week. We are trying to get a nice vacation like reply in place for
anything sent there. Given the age of that server it may take a little
doing.
Thanks again to Tim Cross for getting nginx and mailman3 configured!
